How can we contribute to the well-being of our communities?

Although some crises are partly unavoidable, the potential threat and consequences of other adversities can be prevented through adequate preparation and the adoption of more sustainable lifestyles. What resources exist to strengthen our knowledge and skills in this area?

Over the course of two years, ReFace project partners collaborated on the development of innovative tools and approaches to contribute to the creation of resilient communities, by strengthening the competences of key actors in this field.

On 13th and 14th October, two informative events on the resources developed by the project took place at the premises of CESIE and Beehive (Trapani), offering a unique opportunity to exchange innovative practices from across Europe and to discuss the needs of our territory, thanks to the involvement of different stakeholders: representatives of public administration, members of non-profit organisations, associations and social enterprises, professionals from vocational training and adult education centres.

After reflecting together on the meaning of regional resilience and the opportunities to be active part of this process, participants had the opportunity to register and experience some of the contents of the MOOC “Regions facing shocks: building resilient community”.

During the two events, the final version of the Roadmap “Supporting a Resilient Region – a tool for the Sustainable Communities” was also presented, in order to provide an action plan, including suggestions and resources, for strengthening the resilience of a community and/or region.

The resources developed will remain available on the project website after the end of the project, in 5 language versions: English, Slovak, Italian, French, Spanish.
